Hi, I'm Malte!  I’m a game programmer with strong skills in Gameplay and System programming, currently studying Game Development and Computer & System Sciences at Stockholm University.

Hand of Aeralon

Turn-based, Grid-based Tactical Combat, Party & Card builds – 10 weeks (2026)

Implemented a scalable ability framework and 16 unique abilities, including AOE patterns, range calculations and targeting rules for grid combat.​

​

Implemented the grid interaction system containing a state machine for different states of combat.

​​

Developed previewing ability effects through tile recoloring, temporary healthbar updates and VFX.​​​

Site Zero

3D 1V1 Shooter, First Person, Arena, Farming - 8 weeks (2025)

Developed a modular weapon system including base classes for guns and explosives, with multiple weapon types and fire modes.

​

Implemented upgradeable weapons with unique abilities, damage fall-off, recoil mechanics, aim assist for controllers, and dynamic hitbox-based damage.

​

Created custom visual effects and audio feedback for all combat interactions.

Neon Fusion TD

2D Tower Defence, AI Combat, Shop & Merge System - University - 5 weeks (2024)

Developed a shop & merge system for purchasing and upgrading towers using multiple currencies tied to different actions.

​

Included integrated drag-and-drop functionality, as well as a save and load system.

3D Horror Game, First Person,  Interactions, Inventory - Freetime - (2024)

Developed systems for inventory, interactions, player and camera movement.

Built the environment using 3D meshes, decals and particle systems. I also crafted UI elements and animations.

3D Café simulator, Hit the revenue goal, Keep the streak alive - 4 days (2024)

Developed systems for Drag & Drop, Item Spawning, Conveyor Belt. Created audio and animation.

About me

I'm finishing my bachelor degree in Computer and System Sciences in the spring 2026. I enjoy solving complex problems, working on gameplay features, and bringing fun mechanics to life. My goal is to create engaging player experiences and continue growing as a programmer in the game industry.
